ConServe’s Jeans For Charity Program Infuses Hope into the Community

Rochester, N.Y. – Continental Service Group, Inc., d/b/a ConServe, embraces giving back to the community. In fact, “helping to improve the human condition” is actually part of their corporate mission statement. The concept of paying it forward and giving back to those less fortunate or burdened with some of life’s most difficult challenges is infused into the corporate culture.

As a means of expressing their big-heartedness, the employees at ConServe, in conjunction with the company’s “Matching Gift Program”, work together to make an impactful difference in people’s lives. Through their ongoing philanthropic program, ConServe employees can elect to participate in monthly charitable donations in exchange for the option of wearing jeans to work. Their company-wide charity program allows both the employees and the organization as a whole to support their diversified community investment plan. Employees not only embrace ConServe’s mission of fostering relationships within their community but also take pride in doing the right thing, at the right time, the right way.

In the month of August, the ConServe team made donations to the Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired (ABVI), Rochester Rehabilitation Center, Inc. and Flower City Down Syndrome Network. Sarah Favro, Senior Philanthropy Manager at ABVI, had this to stay about ConServe’s generosity: “We at ABVI are incredibly grateful for ConServe’s continued support through their Jeans for Charity program. By the simple act of wearing jeans to work, the team at ConServe is helping children and adults who are blind or visually impaired learn valuable skills to live independent and productive lives. About ConServe’s Jeans For Charity program

ConServe’s Jeans For Charity initiative began in 2008 when the team’s employees had an idea to launch a program that would provide a way for the company’s mission of “improving the human condition” to coordinate with the organization’s commitment of giving back to their community. ConServe employees are given the opportunity to participate in monthly charitable donations, benefitting a wide-range of recipients, in exchange for having the option of dressing down and wearing jeans to work for the entire month. The funds raised by the employees’ generosity are supplemented by the organization’s Matching Gift Program - symbolizing ConServe’s commitment to good corporate citizenship. This ongoing initiative is just one of the ways in which ConServe supports varied and diverse community agencies. To date the program has donated over $812,000 to local community organizations.

The Flower City Down Syndrome Network is a not-for-profit corporation under New York State laws. Our mission is to provide education, support, and opportunities to people with Down syndrome and their families. We operate in the Greater Rochester area and are a network of families, professionals, self-advocates, and friends who all share in the joys and challenges of a Down syndrome diagnosis. We know that people with Down syndrome have valuable contributions to make to their communities and we work to ensure that their full potential is met and that they are included in every aspect of their communities.
